As many will be aware, today the PM Boris Johnson outlined his optimistic, cautious and hopefully irreversible roadmap out of covid lockdown and restrictions as we get deeper into 2021.
It would appear the key dial for the golf club is that Golf will be back allowed from Monday 29 March 2021.
Whilst this is not as early as everyone would have liked, it is at least a starting point. The alignment with the Rule of 6 outdoors returning then too, does appear to free us from the headache of 2 balls. Although we would clearly take 2 balls from 08 March to 29 March if it was offered....
A more detailed update on the roadmap and the implications will be sent out in the coming week ahead once there has been further guidance and detail received from our governing body and other supporting groups.
The initial feedback from England Golf and the All Party Parliamentary Golf Group is one of disappointment and we will keep a close eye on their actions and information flow over the coming days ahead.
England Golf & APPGG roadmap feedback
On a positive, golf is soon to be back and lets hope this time it truly is irreversible and we are through the worst of this long drawn out pandemic, which we will all remember for the rest of our lives.
Keep safe in the meantime and do continue to follow all government guidance and restrictions to keep the outlook positive and the tragic numbers falling.
